Comedian Maher used Catholic parish for anti-Catholic film; archbishop upset

Archbishop John Myers of Newark is outraged the comedian Bill Maher was allowed to film portions of a new movie in a New Jersey parish church. Maher has frequently assailed the Catholic faith in his comic routines, and the film carries the self-explanatory title: Religulous. The comedian reportedly misled parish officials about the nature of his project, but archdiocesan policies forbid the use of churches for any film projects that do not have archdiocesan endorsement.
