Abortion restrictions linked to reduced maternal mortality

Proponents of legal abortion often argue that laws restricting the practice elevate the medical risks facing women, especially in poor countries. But a study by the World Economic Forum suggests the opposite, finding that countries that prohibit abortion often show the most success in reducing maternal mortality.
