Pope meets with visiting president of Gabon

Pope Benedict XVI met on December 10 with President Ali Bongo Ondimba of Gabon. A brief statement released by the Vatican after the meeting indicated that the Pontiff spoke with the visiting African leader about Church-state relations, and the contributions that Catholic institutions make to society in Gabon, especially in education.
