Peruvian president meets with Pontiff

Pope Benedict XVI met on November 30 with President Alan Garcia Perez of Peru. A brief Vatican statement released after the session indicated that the conversation centered on the public affairs of Latin America and especially Peru, with a particular focus on anti-poverty and anti-corruption efforts, environmental programs, and Church-state relations.
