American named to International Theological Commission

Pope Benedict XVI has named a prominent American patristics scholar as a member of the International Theological Commission. Dr. John Cavadini, the chairman of the University of Notre Dame’s theology department, becomes the fourth scholar teaching in the United States to sit on the commission, joining Father Peter Akpunonu of Mundelein, Sister Sara Butler of Dunwoodie, and Father Paul McPartlan of the Catholic University of America.
