Bishop, senators honor St. Damien at US Capitol

Bishop Larry Silva of Honolulu joined Hawaii Senators Daniel Inouye and Daniel Akaka in honoring St. Damien de Veuster at the US Capitol. A statue of Father Damien, who died ministering to lepers, has graced the Capitol’s National Statuary Hall Collection since 1969.
