Colombian bishops push for hostages' release

Archbishop Ruben Salazar, the president of the Colombian bishops' conference, has called upon rebel leaders to release "absolutely all the hostages" still being held. The archbishop welcomed a decision by President Alvaro Uribe to encourage Church involvement in negotiations toward the hostages' release, and said that it "would be a great gesture" for rebels to take that step.
