USCCB president calls for prayers for persecuted Christians
December 14, 2016
Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, the president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, called for prayer for persecuted Christians following the terrorist attack on a church adjacent to Cairo’s Coptic Orthodox cathedral.
“We are reminded that even the shadow of violence and terrorism cannot obscure the light of our coming Savior,” he said in a statement. “We draw near to our Coptic brothers and sisters in prayer, sorrow and comfort. And we are confident in the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
