Terrorist attack on Pope Francis thwarted?

December 01, 2015

Italian police, working with their counterparts in Kosovo, have arrested four people who are suspected of plotting an attack on Pope Francis, The Local reports.

The four suspects, all natives of Kosovo, were taken into custody following police raids in several Italian cities and in Kosovo. Police described them as a "highly dangerous group" that was using social media to spread jihadist ideology. They were reported to have issued statements celebrating the terrorist attacks in Paris, and threats against the Pontiff and a former American diplomat in Kosovo.
