Papal message for Waldensian synod

August 24, 2015

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, has sent a message in Pope Francis’s name to an Italian bishop so that he may transmit it to the annual synod of the Union of Methodist and Waldensian Churches.

In the August 23 message, Cardinal Parolin said that the Pope prays that the Lord will grant to all Christians the grace “to walk with sincerity of heart towards full communion” and “to witness together to Jesus Christ and his Gospel in working together in the service of mankind, in particular in the defense of the dignity of the human person, in the promotion of justice and peace, and in giving a common response to the suffering that afflicts so many people.”
