5 Christians charged with blasphemy in Pakistan

A Protestant pastor and four members of his church face blasphemy charges in Pakistan’s Punjab province after they referred to the pastor’s father as a rasul (messenger, apostle), a term typically used in the area for Muhammad, the founder of Islam.

“Muslims were very angry and they were planning to burn Christians alive and set their houses and church on fire,” the Pakistan Christian Post reported, “but because of the timely intervention of the police, the situation was controlled.”
