Leading Italian cardinal laments gender ideology

May 29, 2015

The president of the Italian Episcopal Conference described the fight against gender ideology as a “true war in defense of man,” according to a report in La Repubblica.

Instead of accepting one’s sex as a given, an ideology that sees one’s gender as freely chosen is “absolutely self-centered” and separates “culture from nature and the spirit from the body,” thus contributing to “incalculable psychological and relational consequences,” Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco of Genoa said during a recent talk.

The deception seems to be that those attracted to members of their same sex should therefore become the opposite sex. For goodness sake, most, if not all of us, get a flicker of that feeling at some point. The tragedy is that some undergo superficial sex changes to seemingly cope with it but then nobody wants them, or if they do, it's only for novelty. Barry Gee.

Yes gender ideology is the all-encompassing error. A politician in Texas has already claimed to be "pansexual." This is the rotten fruit of relativism. The deadly mixture is relativism and power-politics. Of course this relativism is relative about everything except its own assertions which are constantly morphing. Actually it is a virulent strain of gnosticism the perennial heresy.
