Italian bishop to write meditations for Pope’s Way of the Cross on Good Friday

Pope Francis has chosen a retired Italian bishop to write the meditations that will be read during the Way of the Cross on Good Friday at the Colosseum in Rome.

Bishop Renato Corti, 79, served as auxiliary bishop of Milan from 1981 to 1990 and bishop of Novara, a city of 100,000 in northwestern Italy, from 1990 to 2011.
