Lebanese cabinet declares March 25 ‘Islamic-Christian Day’

At the suggestion of a Lebanese Muslim cleric, the Lebanese cabinet has declared March 25-- the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord-- as “Islamic-Christian Day” in which both Christians and Muslims are encouraged to venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary. The day-- a civic more than a religious observance per se-- is intended to promote national unity.
