Church of England grants final approval to women bishops

The General Synod of the Church of England has formally enacted a measure, approved in July, that permits the ordination of women bishops.
“Today we can begin to embrace a new way of being the church and moving forward together,” said Archbishop Justin Welby of Canterbury. “We will also continue to seek the flourishing of the church of those who disagree.”
