Situation in Crimea reminiscent of Communist era, says Orthodox prelate
September 09, 2014
The actions of the Russia security agency in Crimea, an area of Ukraine annexed by Russia in March, are reminiscent of the Communist era, according to a local prelate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate.
Archbishop Klyment said that the agency is placing psychological pressure on clergy to find out information about his travel and his contacts, according to the Religious Information Service of Ukraine.
