Pope, officials of Synod of Bishops discuss results of questionnaire on family
February 26, 2014
Officials of the Synod of Bishops met on February 24 and 25 to discuss the results of the questionnaire on marriage and family life sent to the world’s episcopal conferences. Pope Francis took part in the meeting during the afternoon of the first day.
The summary of the questionnaire responses was “unanimously appreciated” and manifested the “urgency of proclaiming the Gospel of the family” with renewed vigor and in a new manner.
The summary, according to the Holy See Press Office, will influence the drafting of the instrumentum laboris, or preparatory document for the synod.
The press office added that Pope Francis will not issue an apostolic exhortation until after the conclusion of both the extraordinary synod on the family (which takes place this year) and the ordinary synod on the family (which will take place in 2015).
