Former Irish president raps Church stand on homosexuality

Ireland’s former president, Mary McAleese, has denounced the Catholic Church for condemning homosexual acts.
“I don’t like my Church’s attitude to gay people,” McAleese said. “I don’t like ‘love the sinner, hate the sin.’ If you are a so-called sinner, who likes to be called that?”
McAleese went on to claim that “a very large number” of Catholic priests are homosexuals. “It isn’t so much the elephant in the room, but a herd of elephants,” she said. The former Irish president suggested that Cardinal Keith O’Brien, who stepped down after admitting to sexual improprieties with seminarians, should give a candid account of his life, saying that this would provide encouragement for homosexuals.

Homosexual activity is seriously disordered. It is unhealthy for body, soul and spirit; that's why every civilization with any sense of health and morals has turned away from it. God's law is good for us. We turn from it at our peril.

And wouldn't Meddling Mary and others of her ilk get a surprise if O'Brien took them up on their suggestion but, instead of lauding sin as Mary wants, he were to say he regrets every one of the degrading acts occasioned by weakness involving his personality disorder. At least her latest rant can leave no one in doubt any longer: Mary stopped being a Catholic in anything but name a long, long time ago.

This woman is either a blithering idiot or horribly corrupt morally. "If you are a so-called sinner, who likes to be called that?" Hint my child: If you don't admit you ARE a sinner, there's no path to Heaven which is open for you...
