Egypt: prominent convert from Islam to Christianity arrested
December 10, 2013
Bishoy Armia Boulous, a prominent Egyptian Muslim convert to Christianity, has been arrested, according to multiple media reports.
Morning Star News reported that he had been arrested for inciting sectarian strife.
“The police have made it seem like they are arresting him for different reasons other than him being a convert from Islam,” said Mamdouh Nakhla, who chairs a Coptic human rights organization. “There is no doubt that he will be tortured.”
