New Swiss Guard commander accused, cleared of alleged police brutality

Daniel Rudolf Anrig, who became the 34th commander of the Swiss Guard yesterday, was involved in an incident of alleged Swiss police brutality against immigrants in 2003. While Anrig had to pay the legal costs of the complainants, an investigation cleared him of claims of brutality in leading a ‘rigorous’ investigation.
