Abuse toll will be 'staggering,' Dublin's archbishop says

In a letter to priests of the Dublin archdiocese, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin has said that the costs of the sex-abuse scandal will be "staggering," the Irish Times reports. As a commission investigating clerical abuse prepares a final report for January release, the archbishop warned that figures will show at least 400 people have been sexually abused by priests. This misbehavior has left other priests "extremely upset and offended," he wrote.
