British cardinal backs amnesty for illegal immigrants

Britain's leading Catholic prelate has suggested an amnesty for illegal immigrants. Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor suggested that immigrants who have lived in the country for some time should be awarded citizenship. Those who remain illegally, he said, "are quite vulnerable and can be easily threatened or exploited."
