Nicaraguan bishops ask for election recount

The Catholic bishops of Nicaragua are calling for a recount after disputed elections that strengthened the rule of President Daniel Ortega. Many voters "feel defrauded" because of widespread reports of ballot-box-stuffing, said Archbishop Leopoldo Brenes Solorzano of Managua. The bishops urged protesters to express their complaints peacefully.
