Bishop condemns political repression in Swaziland

In a statement issued Wednesday, Bishop Louis Ndlovu of Manzini, who has led the landlocked nation of Swaziland’s sole diocese since 1981, called upon ‘all people of good will’ to oppose the Suppression of Terrorism Act passed earlier this year. The statement comes amid mounting international concern that the act is an instrument of repression of political and press freedom. Bishop Ndlovu was appointed apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Manzini in 1981 and bishop in 1985.
