MANNA
The name given in Scripture for the miraculous food sent to the Israelites in the desert (Exodus 16:4-36). There are natural exudates from trees and shrubs in Arabia that yield, during two months in the fall, a minute quantity of edible substance. But their limited supply, with characteristic taste, makes them totally unlike what the Bible describes as the manna of the Exodus.
