APOSTOLIC CAMERA

The Vatican agency in charge of temporal goods and rights of the Holy See, especially during a vacancy in the papacy. It is under the presidency of the Cardinal Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church. The office, powers, and privileges of the priest-clerics of the Apostolic Camera were determined by Pope Pius XI in 1934, but the institution itself goes back to the eleventh century.
