Follow the example of St. Charles Borromeo, Pope advises
November 05, 2026
At the conclusion of his November 4 general audience, Pope Leo XIV encouraged young people, the sick, and newlyweds to follow the example of St. Charles Borromeo (1538-1584).
“Today is the liturgical memorial of St. Charles Borromeo, distinguished bishop of the Diocese of Milan, who, animated by ardent love for the Lord, was the teacher and guide of his brethren,” Pope Leo said. “Following his example, let yourselves be led by Christ in your daily life.”
The Vatican omitted the Pontiff’s words from its English translation of his remarks.
