Cardinal Francisco Errázuriz Ossa of Santiago has asked the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to investigation abuse allegations against Father Fernando Karadima Fariña, a revered priest born in 1930. Eight men now accuse Father Karadima of abusing them, some of them in confessional.
A leader in the Catholic Action movement, the priest helped train five of the nation’s bishops.
