CWN Editor's Note: “It is the time for pouring out love upon the world, yet not embracing worldliness,” the Pope added in a follow-up tweet. “It is more the time for testifying to mercy, than for inculcating rules and regulations. It is the time of the Paraclete! It is the time of freedom of heart, in the Paraclete.”

If God is mercy alone, and not justice, then why are we told of a need for a redeemer? Why would this redeemer have needed to suffer and die for "sins" if sins are of no consequence to an imagined god of pure mercy? St. Paul explains in Romans 12:1 that our faith is a reasonable or reasoned service owed to God alone. Does Catholic moral discipline exist? Do sacraments exist outside of the imaginations of men? Is there a need for belief in God? In justification? Why not embrace worldliness?
