The film presents a fictionalized relationship between Popes Benedict XVI and Francis, with the latter cast in a heroic light while the former is portrayed as stern, inflexible, and jealous of his successor’s popularity.

Francis is not that popular in arenas of the Church that believes in its teachings and doctrines. Francis is off into left field on many issues of both a Church and secular nature. He conveniently delays review on the Mccarrick case and delves into globalist politics such as "climate change" and USA politics to influence Catholics thus affecting the election.
