Late bishop’s diary describes oppression of Catholics in Vietnam

The Archdiocese of Hanoi has published portions of the diary of Auxiliary Bishop Paul Lê Dac Trong, who died on September 7 at the age of 91. Ordained a priest in 1948, the late prelate recorded the oppression of Catholics in North Vietnam following the 1954 Communist takeover and the oppression of Catholics throughout Vietnam following the fall of Saigon in 1975.
