Gay advocates angry at Obama’s ambiguity on Defense of Marriage Act

Gay activists expressed disappointment after President Barack Obama’s administration decided to defend the Defense of Marriage Act as it undergoes a legal challenge. President Obama, who called for the repeal the law, which he believes is discriminatory, noted that the Department of Justice traditionally defends federal statutes under legal challenge.
