November 06, 2017

CWN Editor's Note: The Islamic State has been driven out of the Syrian city of Raqqa, where the Italian missionary priest Father Paolo Dall’Oglio was taken by Islamic militants in Syria in July 2013. But no new evidence about the whereabouts of the missing priest has been unearthed. Church officials lend little credence to rumors that Father Dall’Oglio has been killed, noting that similar rumors have circulated for several years.

The above note supplements, highlights, or corrects details in the original source (link above). About CWN news coverage.
