Abuse trial begins in England for former abbot after five-year manhunt

CWN Editor's Note: An English court heard prosecutors’ charges that Father Laurence Soper jumped bail, withdrew over $200,000 from an Italian bank account, and hid in Kosovo before finally being arrested last year. Father Soper, the fomer abbot of Ealing Abbey, was originally arrested in 2010 on charges of molesting adolescent boys.
