Bishops discuss integration of migrants in Europe

European bishops responsible for the pastoral care of migrants met recently in Madrid to discuss the integration of migrants and refugees into society.
“Before becoming physical realities, walls rise within human hearts,” the Council of the Bishops’ Conferences of Europe stated in a media release. “Only an education to encounter and dialogue will make it possible to uproot unjustified fears, often based on stereotypes and clichés, which are increasingly feeding xenophobic feelings in Europe.”
