Pope OK after falling headlong during procession at Mass in Czestochowa
July 28, 2016
Pope Francis frightened a congregation at the Marian shrine of Czestochowa on July 28 when he stumbled and fell headlong during the entrance procession before Mass.
Apparently failing to notice a small step down as he approached the altar carrying a thurible, the Pope lost his balance completely. But after being helped slowly to his feet, he went on to celebrate Mass without showing any ill effects of the fall.
