Mexican bishops: papal visit challenged us
April 13, 2016
One month after an editorial posted on the web site of the Archdiocese of Mexico City stated that comments made by the Pope about the Mexican hierarchy were misinformed, the Mexican Episcopal Conference issued a statement referring to the recent papal visit.
Pope Francis came to Mexico in February as a “good Samaritan, a missionary of mercy and peace,” the conference stated.
His message, the statement added, is guiding the conference’s deliberations and leaves “challenges we have to confront.”
