Italian bishops conference spokesman decries TV appearance by son of Mafia boss
April 11, 2016
The secretary-general of the Italian bishops' conference has vowed that he will never appear on a television show that featured an interview with the son of a convicted Mafia figure.
"I absolutely refused to watch the show, and if I'm ever invited on Porta a Porta, I'll never go, just so I don't have to sit on the same chair," said Bishop Nunzio Galantino. He was reacting to an appearance by Salvo Riina, the son of the reputed "boss of bosses" Toto Riina.
