Prosecutors drop abuse probe of Italian bishop
April 04, 2016
Italian prosecutors have concluded an investigation of sex-abuse charges lodged against an Italian bishop, saying that no charges will be filed.
Bishop Gerardo Antonazzo of Sora-Cassino-Aquino-Pontecorvo, a diocese south of Rome, had been accused by a seminarian. Police found no evidence to support the charge. The bishop remarked that the probe had shown "how utterly unfounded the accusations are."
