Togo's president meets with Pontiff

Pope Francis met on January 28 with President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe of the Republic of Togo.

According to a brief Vatican statement released after the meeting, the Pontiff's discussions with the African leader centered on Church-state relations, and especially the work of the Catholic Church n education. The conversation also included a discussion of security issues in sub-Saharan Africa.
