Pope Francis to visit Auschwitz?

Pope Francis could make a visit to the notorious Nazi death camp at Auschwitz in July, during a trip to Poland.

Father Federico Lombardi, the director of the Vatican press office, raised that possibility on January 27, as he spoke on Holocaust Remembrance Day. 

St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI both visited Auschwitz during pastoral trips to Poland. "I think that a trip by the current Pontiff may also become reality," Father Lombardi said.
