Italian firms donates electric bikes to Vatican, in thanks for Pope's environmental stand

January 28, 2016

Pope Francis has received a gift of 10 electric bikes for the Vatican, from the firm NWG, based in Prado, Italy.

The bikes were offered as a token of thanks to the Pontiff for his advocacy of "green" energy, especially in his encyclical, Laudato Si'. The NWG has previously donated an electric car to the Vatican in 2012, in recognition of the environmental advocacy of Pope Benedict XVI.
