Boston hospital rejects appeal of doctor dismissed for citing health risks of homosexuality
December 17, 2015
A Massachusetts physician has lost his battle to retain a hospital post, after being dismissed for “insensitive” statements about the health risks of homosexual behavior.
Dr. Paul Church, a urologist who is on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, came under fire at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center when he objected to the hospital’s support for homosexual activism. He was advised not to make known his opinions—including his medical opinions about the dangers of homosexual acts—and eventually dismissed when he persisted. The hospital’s board of directors has now rejected his appeal.
Dr. Church insists that he was offering sound medical advice, as well as defending his own religious views:
I have challenged the medical center to be more truthful and honest about the negative health consequences inherent with high risk and unhealthy sexual behaviors and to be more respectful of the diversity of religious and moral views regarding homosexuality.

Why hasn't the pro-choice crowd stood up to cheer and support Dr.Church for his brave choice?

The U.S. Constitution only guarantees freedom of speech. It does not guarantee freedom from the consequences, especially from nongovernmental institutions.

Sodomy is dangerous business, as is any perverse sex, homosexual or heterosexual. Would the hospital dismiss a professional for saying that? Maybe if a more politically sensitive word were used for "perverse"?

Shame on Dr. Paul Church for assuming he is entitled to exercise his Constitutional right to freedom of speech.

Dr Church ought to know that the Universal Church of Tolerance tolerates no reference to the mountains of scientific evidence that homosexual activity exposes participants to substantial health risks. The Universal Church of Tolerance instead celebrates the radiance of the Emporer's new clothes!
