Iraqi prelate seeks international commitment to freeze assets of Islamic State, commit ground troops

Chaldean Catholic Patriarch Louis Raphael I Sako reports that conditions are worsening for Christians in Iraq and Syria, and urges international action to defeat the Islamic State.
The Iraqi prelate, speaking at a conference in Rome, called for a united front against the Islamic extremists. He suggested freezing financial assets, committing ground troops to counter the Islamic State offensive, and a systematic effort to assure religious freedom.
