Federal government urges employees: work from home during papal visit
September 02, 2015
The federal government’ Office of Personnel Management has asked federal agencies to discourage employees from commuting to Washington during the three days of Pope Francis’s visit to the city, The Hill reported.
The office “strongly encourages agencies to allow employees to telework to keep the government operating while helping to minimize traffic congestion and support law enforcement efforts during this event,”
The Pontiff arrives from Cuba on the afternoon of September 22 and departs for New York on September 24.
