Continue to combat Ebola, Holy See diplomat urges

July 16, 2015

Amid a renewed outbreak of the Ebola virus disease in Liberia, the Holy See’s leading diplomat at the United Nations urged the international community to continue to combat the disease.

In his statement, sent to an international conference on Ebola, Archbishop Bernardito Auza recounted the Church’s efforts to assist the disease’s victims.

“I would like to reiterate the appeal Pope Francis makes to the international community to exert all necessary effort to defeat Ebola, effectively alleviating the hardships and sufferings of all those affected,” Archbishop Auza concluded.
