Delay in Vatican trial of ex-nuncio

The Vatican’s trial of a laicized former nuncio on child pornography and sexual abuse charges has been delayed because of the defendant's illness.
On July 11, the date on which the trial was scheduled to begin, the Holy See Press Office announced that Józef Wesolowski experienced “the onset of an unexpected illness, necessitating his transfer to a public hospital where he is currently in the intensive care unit.”
