Heightened security at Nigerian churches

Churches in Nigeria have heightened their security in response to the continued terrorist activity of the Islamist militant organization Boko Haram.
In Kano, a city of 2.1 million in northern Nigeria, Bishop John Namanzah Niyiring said that barricades have been constructed in front of churches and that people now walk through metal detectors before entering church, according to the Catholic Information Service for Africa.
