Benedict XVI in 'fantastic health,' mentally sharp, American visitor reports

An American priest reported finding Pope-emeritus Benedict XVI in “fantastic health” and mentally alert during a recent meeting at the Vatican.

Msgr. Anthony Figueiredo, the spiritual director of the North American College, met with the retired Pontiff last week and told the National Catholic Register that he found him “as sharp today and perhaps even sharper than when he was the great theologian and the great Pope that we knew him as.”
