The Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis, Minnesota, has announced plans for a 20% cut in its annual budget, after reaching a costly financial settlement with sex-abuse victims.
The archdiocese anticipates layoffs from the chancery staff and a substantial trimming of support services for its 200 parishes and 90 parochial schools.
